Thespian Troupe #3310 Student Committees
- Each Thespian officer shall lead a committee as indicated in their duties.
- It is the officers responsibility to communicate with the committee.
- Committees will be made up of any Olathe North Theatre students in good standing.
- Committees will meet once a month, or more, as needed for that committee’s duties.
- Committees are defined below. Additional duties and committees may be assigned or apportioned by the troupe director and or troupe president as needed.

Theatre Advocacy Committee- Led by the President - Assists in planning ON’s participation in Kansas Thespian’s Theatre Advocacy Day at the Capital. - Assists in planning Theatre in our School Month Activities for the Troupe. - Develops local advocacy events about once a quarter. - Assists Sophomore Officer and recruitment committee with advocacy related recruitment activities. |
Events/Social Committee- Led by Senior Vice President - Helps to arrange events for the year, including cast parties, thespian retreat, TOTS-EAT, thespian induction, end of the year awards, and other seasonal or show related events. - Works with other officers to share information about EoTYA, including to middle schools. - Plans outside of school production visits, including those that troupe members are involved in, at least 1 a quarter should be planned. - Plans group activities and attendance at Olathe North Events |
Thespians in Service Committee- Led by Junior Vice President - Plans activities where the troupe can be of service to the ON Community. - Is involved in planning and gets information to the troupe about ON’s participation in Thespian Events such as Thespian Festival |
Recruitment and New Student Committee-Led by Sophficer - Assists in planning and implementation of activities intended to introduce students to theatre. - Is troupe’s representatives at club and activity fair days and events. - Serves as the first line of contact to 8th graders and middle school students. - Assists planning and attends, if possible, 8th grade visit days or younger student theatre connection days. |
Public Relations Committee- Led by Secretary - Attends to troupe correspondence, including thank yous and break a leg notes for other schools - Serves as the first line of spell check and editing for Troupe Director - Assists with work on the program for all shows - Assists with making banquet invitations - Submits written announcements for school announcements with approval of troupe director - Writes and sends out press releases for all shows. - Assists in posting points and adjusting cabinets at least once a season. - Assists with end of the year points and award arrangements. |
Webstorian Committee- Led by Webstorian -Takes or finds someone to take pictures of all events (plays, workdays, casts, crews, and thespian events) - Finds and keeps news clippings, posters, and programs for historical usage. - Makes annual historical document (PowerPoint, scrapbook, video, etc.) for the year. - Files and maintains department historical documents including pictures and other items. - Assists in updating the department web and social media presence at least once a month. - Promotes Troupe activities and events on social media by posting at least once a week. |
